The 2026 creator-gear visual breakdown.

Cameras, drones, gimbals & self-tracking rigs — plus the phones and AI glasses creators actually reach for — charted by what they do, ranked by value, and mapped for what works with what. Every number traces to real specs.

Price vs capability

Each bubble is a device. Right = more capable, left = cheaper — top-left is the value sweet spot. Color = category. Capability is a transparent index from real specs (see Method). Re-scores when you pick a job above.

What works with what

Devices (warm) linked to the ecosystems they plug into (cyan) — mics, mounts, lens systems, tracking. Drag a node; hover to trace a kit. Built from each device's stated compatibility.

Capability index — the formula (audit it)

For each device we scan its real key_specs + standout text for concrete signals, sum points, normalize to 0–100:

resolution 8K=3 · 4K120=2.5 · 4K=2 · else 1  |  stabilization gimbal/3-axis=3 · IBIS/RockSteady=2 · EIS=1.5  |  low-light 1″/full-frame=3 · APS-C/1.1″=2 · else 1  |  tracking ActiveTrack/DockKit/AI=2  |  portability <200g or pocket/wearable=3 · <500g=2 · else 1  |  audio DJI Mic/XLR=1.5 · else .5

It's a directional heuristic, not a lab benchmark. Raw specs sit on every card; value = capability ÷ price. Missing signals score the floor — never invented. Accuracy is priority #1: nothing here is fabricated to look better.
